One book that has helped me to think differently about the food I put in my body is Kris Carr’s Crazy Sexy Diet. I’m not going to lie–it’s been on my Kindle for over a year now. I’ve not read it until now because I’ve been so content with the Take Shape for Life approach. Really, TSFL is packed with wisdom and support around nutrition. But I needed to step out of the zone a bit to do some exploring on my own. Carr’s story is this: at 31 years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. She was partying and living it up at the time, but the diagnosis got her attention. She took charge of her life and her heatlh by dramatically shifting her lifestyle. Through a whole-foods, plant-based approach, Carr stopped the cancer in its tracks.
